Research Methods for SROI

Course Tutor: Eilis Lawlor, Just Economics

Are you interested in SROI but don't feel like you are yet ready to undertake your own analysis?

Do you find some of the concepts a little daunting?
Just Economics and The SROI Network have developed a new training course designed to familiarise people with the research techniques that are required to complete a high quality analysis.

This course is a general introduction to research methods, aimed specifically at people who work with, or are considering working with SROI. Although it compliments SROI training, it is not necessary to have completed training to under-take it.

It has been designed in response to a growing awareness that good research skills are fundamental to carrying out a robust SROI evaluation that meets assurance standards.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Research in context: the importance of research design
  • Qualitative vs. qualitative: fitting form to function
  • Working with quantitative data: finding, accessing and presenting data, including an introduction to key data sources
  • Working with qualitative data: focus group and interview techniques
  • SROI surgery and preparing for assurance

The training will be designed and delivered by Just Economics staff with strong research and training backgrounds, and will include at least one accredited practitioner.

Price

The price of this course is £290 + VAT with a 15% discount for SROI Network members.
